Nominations for the 2023 BTP Federation Awards of Excellence are now open. Throughout the year we highlight and champion the great work done by officers and Specials across the force area and this culminates in an awards ceremony at our annual conference. Everyone who is presented with an award has been nominated by your, our members.

Do you work alongside someone you feel deserves recognition? Has a colleague shown great bravery at an incident, or tenacity in investigating a crime? Is there someone on your team who consistently goes above and beyond, putting victims at the heart of everything they do? Are you a supervisor who is proud of a particular team or individual's work? This year we presented awards to colleagues who:
  • Showed exceptional bravery in the face of a vicious attack by an offender
  • Saved the life of a person struck by a train
  • Worked tirelessly to protect a person experiencing domestic abuse
  • Put their own safety at risk while apprehending a drunk driver
You can see the films we made about their work here.

We're now looking for examples of #BTPBrilliance from March 2022 onwards. We'll put another reminder out nearer to the closing date but we're keen to start gathering your nominations now, so we don't miss any great stories of exceptional work.

We're also seeking nominations for our Lifetime Achievement award. This recognises someone who, throughout their career, has made a significant contribution to the public and/or their colleagues. This year the award was presented to PC Cath Daley, in recognition of her enthusiasm, dedication and commitment throughout her long and distinguished career with BTP. You can watch her film here.
