Prostate Cancer Home Test Kits

One in eight men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. While the cause of this cancer is not completely clear, there are some risk factors.

According to Prostate Cancer UK, the three main risk factors are:
  • getting older - it mainly affects men aged 50 or over
  • having a family history of prostate cancer
  • being black - more research is being done in this area

Fear and embarrassment often prevent men from getting symptoms - such as difficulty peeing - checked out. However, catching the cancer early can greatly increase your life chances.

The PSA Test is a blood test which can detect the early signs of prostate cancer. It can be done at a GP surgery or in person at events run by charities such as Prostate Cancer Support Organisation (PSaSO).

Additionally, PCaSO can now provide a kit which enables a pin-prick blood test to be done at home.

There is a charge of £22.99 per test for the kit, postage, laboratory analysis and results. You will be asked to pay this online as part of the application process. PCaSO does not receive any of this money, or any commission.

To find out more or to order a test, visit the PCaSO website.
