Lottery grant keeps Bristol youngsters on their toes

As well as monthly prizes for players, the Federation Lottery provides financial support for a variety of good causes.

Lottery members can apply for a donation for charitable, sporting or cultural purposes. Once such grant has helped two groups of young dancers compete in America.

Angels Dance Academy in Bristol was nominated for a grant by BTP officer Tony Watt. The donation helped the dance school take two dance teams to Florida for the US All Star Federation Dance World Championships.

Last year, again with Federation lottery support, the Dark Angels group finished eighth while the Dominion Angels took third place in their respective categories.

This year Dark Angels took first place in their category and Dominion Angels came second in theirs, which is a fantastic achievement. The dancers are pictured with their medals and trophies.

As well as assisting charities and community groups the fund also supports several retired BTP groups and helps towards the cost of members' sporting endeavours.

  • To join the lottery, which is open to both serving and retired members, complete and submit the relevant form(s).
  • If you're already a member and would like to recommend an organisation for a lottery grant, tell us about them here.
