Brave officers added to Gallantry Roll of Honour

PC's Wayne Marques and Leon McLeod, who tacked armed terrorists during last year's London Bridge attack, have been added to BTP's Gallantry Roll of Honour. The plaque was unveiled this morning by the Rail Minister, Andrew Jones MP.

In October of this year, HM the Queen awarded PC Wayne Marques The George Medal and PC Leon McLeod The Queen's Gallantry Medal in recognition of their bravery.

Our Chairman, Nigel Goodband, attended this morning's event with General Secretary, Darren Townsend. Nigel said:

"Wayne and Leon exemplify what it is to be a police officer; they put their own safety on the line while doing everything they could to protect those around them.

"Their names now appear alongside those of other colleagues who demonstrated bravery in extreme circumstances.

"Wayne and Leon are both part of BTP's future and an important part of our force's history."
